BLUE GRAPE MUSIC is pleased to welcome GRIDIRON — Mathew Karll, vocals; Will Kaelin, guitar and vocals; Xavier Wilson, guitar; William Livesay, bass; and Tyler Mullen, drums — to the label's roster.
The band, which originally formed as a pandemic project and has since grown into a full-fledged entity, features members of Never Ending Game, Simulakra, and Scarab, and connects the Philadelphia, Delaware, and Michigan areas.
Today, Gridiron have shared the video for "Talk Real." Watch the video, directed by Dan Centrone,
The video finds the band knuckling down on its instruments, spliced with story footage while preparing for the big game. Who wins? Who loses? Does it even matter? No, it doesn't. Because the music slays.
"For me, this song is about being ready when your number is called," says Karll. "Standing by your brothers and having a 'we, not me' mentality. Lyrically, it's about rising to the occasion and playing for the name on the front of the jersey not the name on the back."
Gridiron are expected to follow up their buzzy 2022 effort, No Good At Goodbyes, in spring of next year, via Blue Grape Music, with major touring to surround it, including the recently announced stop at Sonic Temple and handful of December shows.
